B Pharmacy or Bachelor of Pharmacy, also known as B.Pharm, is a 4-year long undergraduate degree course in India. It is a career oriented course and is mainly pursued by people who want to open their own pharmacy store or join the industry for research purposes.
Candidates should have passed 10+2 examinations with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Mathematics.
Students possessing 10+2 qualification from non-formal based schooling such as NIOS and state based open schooling are not eligible for the B Pharmacy course.
Students should complete the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission to the B Pharmacy course.
Candidates who have completed D Pharm course from a PCI (Pharmacy Council of India) approved institution. This is lateral admission in the second /third semester of B Pharmacy course.
B Pharmacy admission process is primarily done on the basis of performance based on one of the entrance examinations.
Lateral admission to B Pharmacy course is also offered to students with D Pharmacy (Diploma in Pharmacy) qualification.
Lateral entry system allows students to get admission into the second year of B Pharmacy course directly. Hence, in 3 years students can earn a B Pharmacy degree, instead of 4 years (normal entry).
